University of Idaho: Places We Are From – Music by Women for oboe and bassoon

University of Idaho Lionel Hampton School of Music double reed professors Dr. Teodora Pejašinović Proud and Dr. Javier Rodriguez would like to present a program of works for oboe and bassoon by female composers. This program will include two World Premieres. The first is In Memoriam by Nansi Carroll for oboe, bassoon and piano about the National Memorial for Peace and Justice and The Legacy Museum in Montgomery. The second is a still-in-progress work by Jenni Brandon for oboe/english horn and bassoon. This work will also be published in versions for oboe/english horn and saxophone, and bassoon and saxophone. The final piece, Troubadours for Oboe and Bassoon, is by young Serbian composer Ana Krstajic, and would be a United States Premiere. The performance will also feature Dr. Kevin Chance from the University of Alabama on piano.
