IDRS 25th Anniversary CD
The premiere recording of Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano by Jean Francaix performed by John Mack (former principal oboist of the Cleveland Orchestra) and David McGill (currently principal bassoonists of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra). This composition was commissioned jointly by IDRS, the British Double Reed Society, the Dutch Double Reed Society, the German Double Reed Society and the Japan Bassoon Society.
The recording contains:
- Duo for Oboe and Bassoon by Heitor Villa-Lobos performed by Alex Klein (former principal oboist of Chicago Symphony Orchestra) and George Sakakeeny of Oberlin Conservatory.
- Premiere recording of Trio for Oboe, Bassoon and Piano by Andre Previn performed by Andre Previn, Piano and Cynthia Koledo DeAlmeida and Nancy Goeres, principal players of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.
- Six Arias for Two Bassoons by F. Gebauer performed by Stefano Canuti and Sergio Azzolini, two of the most recognized soloists from Italy.
