    Dear Music Educators,

Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp’s International Exchange Program is announcing the following openings in the 2009 International Exchange Program:

    Northern and Southern Winds: Bassoon

The International Southern Winds and Northern Winds (2 separate wind ensembles) will tour for approximately three weeks next summer, performing and staying with host families in 6-7 European communities. Both groups will also travel on a short “mini-tour” within the Midwest prior to their European Tour and have final concerts back in the Midwest and at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp to conclude this experience. The 2009 Northern Winds will be under the direction of John Heath and the 2009 Southern Winds will be under the direction of Dennis Zeisler. Both groups will perform extremely challenging and exciting concert band repertoire.

Advanced High school students interested in auditioning for the 2009 International Northern Winds or Southern Winds can download materials from the Blue Lake website http://www.bluelake.org or can call our office for application materials and audition requirements (auditions are either submitted via recording or live over the telephone and consist of scales and choice of solo/etude/excerpt – accompanied or unaccompanied). Qualified applicants will be selected for telephone interviews. Applications should be submitted as soon as possible. More information on Blue Lake’s International Exchange Program (dates, costs, etc.) can be obtained by calling our office at 1-800-221-3796, ext. 201 or by emailing lbrockman@bluelake.org We look forward to hearing from you very soon!
