Named Best U.S. College Town of 2024 by Midwestern Traveler Magazine, Oxford, Ohio blends a small-town atmosphere with the lively energy of Miami University.  About 7,000 residents call Oxford home year-round, and nearly 18,000 students return to the town each fall. In the Historic Uptown District, visitors can enjoy a walkable stretch of local shops and restaurants, while Hueston Woods State Park is just 15 minutes from town. Local Transportation

BCTRA

A variety of transportation options are provided by Butler County Regional Transit Authority (BCRTA).

You can get around campus and Butler County using BCRTA University O Routes and BCRTA Regional Routes. The University O Routes connect students and staff to major locations on campus, as well as several off-campus destinations, including Uptown Oxford.  All BCRTA O Routes and Regional Routes are free for everyone—no ID required.  To track a bus or plan a trip, download the Transit app for real-time bus information.

Oxford is bike-friendly, with dedicated bicycle lanes and a developing network of bike and pedestrian trails. Miami University maintains a bike trail in Peffer Park, located on the west side of U.S. 27, just south of the Art Museum.
