Stolen Instrument Report:

Instrument Information

Instrument: Buffet Crampon Bassoon
Serial Number: can't find it - my diary was in the bassoon case
Comments: Buffet Crampon of about 1910, dark varnish much rubbed and dinged, and the metal band at the top of the boot joint cracking in several places where the wood has swollen. The keywork is unusual (though normal for the early date), with an open ring on the A hole and small key attached (to stabilise bass B), and with only two further LH thumb keys (high C/B and Bflat/A), not three as on later Buffets. In a black BAM soft case.
