I have always wanted to make a contribution besides the monitary one I have made for a longtime, but now that I am retired I have the time to do it. I want to encourage young people to learn and enjoy double reed instruments the way I have for a lifetime. Just because you don't choose music as a vocation, there are still ample opportunities to enjoy and share your talents in music. My oboe and English horn have been my go-to relaxation, revitalization, and rejuvination all through my career as a physician.

I am a retired obstetrician and anesthesiologist. I have no formal training in music, but have picked up courses, coaching, lessons, and mentoring along the way. Influential in my musical journey incluse studying with Jean-Paul Cabos at the University of Bordeaux (on the study abroad program with the University of Colorado), with John Mueller at the North Carolina School of the Arts (during my anesthesia residency}, and with Dan Willet (a student of Dan Stolper) at the University of Missouri (while I was the dean of students for the Medical School). I delivered babies for 40 years. I currently live near St Louis.
