The International Double Reed Society is pleased to announce the repertoire for the 11th annual Young Artists Competition being held for oboists during the 2018 annual IDRS conference, August 28 – September 1, 2018, Palacio de Congresos, Granada, Spain. The competition is for oboists who have not reached their 22nd birthday by the date of the final round of the competition (August 30, 2018). Application details will be available on January 1, 2018. Competition Repertoire:

  1. G. P. Telemann, Fantasie Nr. 8 in E Minor, TWV 40:9, all repeats, Barenreiter Edition.
  2. Franz Krommer, Oboe Concerto No. 2 in F Major, Op. 52, Movements: 1. Allegro and 2. Adagio, Any Edition.
  3. Alyssa Morris, Four Personalities, Movements: 1. Yellow 3. Blue 4. Red, TrevCo Music Publishing.
  4. For final round only: Benjamin Godard, Légende Pastorale from Scénes écossaises, Op. 138, Any Edition.

The first round will consist of a video recording of the Telemann, Krommer and Morris as listed above​. The final round will consist of selections from the above works​ plus a performance of the Godard.​

In addition to cash prizes of 1st place, $6000 US, 2nd place, $4000 US and 3rd place, $2000 US, the 1st place winner will perform a public recital during the 2018 conference.
