Responsibilities: Teach graduate and undergraduate applied oboe and studio classes, including repertoire and pedagogy, reed-making, and chamber ensembles. Additional duties may include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, or as assigned by the Chair of the School of Music. Contribute to an active community of faculty and students by engaging in local, state, regional and national performing activities; including performing with Solaris – faculty quintet in residence at The University of Akron.

The School of Music, comprised of 441 music majors, is searching for a dynamic teacher and performer capable of recruiting and maintaining a vibrant oboe studio. Master of Music degree and successful teaching and performing experience required. Rank: Part-Time Instructor – Music (Oboe). Start Date: Fall 2010.
