    For Charles Veazey, research has not been an abstraction as with many. His reed making research and resulting instructional video taught oboists in the broader international community the essence as well as the subtle details of oboe reed making. His fiber optic research on functions of the throat was a landmark illumination of age-old mysteries and irrefutable confirmation of how oboe vibrato is really produced.
