A brief biography:

Dylan Myers is working toward his DMA in Bassoon Performance and certificate in Music Career Development at Michigan State University. His research interests include the development of early woodwinds, the influences of rhetoric in the arts, as well as new music for both modern and historical bassoons alike. Dylan’s terminal research, New Music for Historical Bassoons, explores performance practices of wind playing in the 16th through 18th centuries, explores how technical knowledge of earlier instruments inform stylistic interpretations for modern players, and contributing to the growth of newly composed music for solo historical bassoons since the early music revival.
