A brief biography:

Honduran-born and Garifuna oboist Joël Angel Roches—also known as Atma Daleep—is a trans artist whose presence is as dynamic as their music. With a nurturing spirit that extends beyond their artistry, Joel channels their passion for the oboe while standing as a fierce advocate for the trans community and mental health awareness. They are a steadfast defender of students and colleagues, using their voice to create spaces where all are valued and supported.
A dedicated educator, Joel believes that music is for everyone, regardless of social status, history, or talent. From beginners just picking up the oboe to advanced musicians mastering the craft, they are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where anyone with the will to learn can thrive.
