| A brief biography: | Gracie McMahon is a rising junior at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign completing a bachelor's degree in oboe performance with Professor John Dee. During her time at UIUC, she has performed with the University of Illinois Symphony Orchestra and Wind Orchestra. She also performs regularly with the Kishwaukee Symphony Orchestra. Prior to beginning her undergraduate degree, Gracie was a student of Dr. Matthew Guschl. A native of Rockford, Illinois, she was featured as a soloist with the Rockford Concert Band in the summer of 2025. Gracie was principal oboe of both the Rockford Symphony Youth Orchestra and the Northern Illinois University Sinfonia. She was the 2024 winner of the Chicago Symphony Youth Orchestra oboe excerpt competition. She hopes begin a master's degree in 2028. |
