A brief biography:

Erik Paul is a 23 year old rising professional bassoonist currently based in Boston. He studied with Dr. Sasha Gee Enegren at Montclair State University and Middle Tennessee State University before transferring to the New England Conservatory of Music, studying with Marc Goldberg. He is currently the principal bassoonist of the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, having toured in many of the greatest halls in the world throughout Europe, Mexico, Japan, and China. He is also an avid supporter of new music, having commissioned multiple works for bassoon, including a sonata by Amber Ferenz Spuller he premiered in a recital at IDRS in 2024. He recently completed his undergraduate degree at New England Conservatory, and is exploring opportunities for continued graduate studies.

  • I hereby authorize the release of my performance at the IDRS 2026 conference for non-commercial use by conference attendees and IDRS members. This includes audio recordings and video recordings for the IDRS archives and website.
